Effects of Kottam chukkadi Tailam

Kottam Chukkadi tailam is a formulation evolved as an Anubhoota yogam from Keraleeya Ayurveda chikitsa. It got a wide acceptance throughout the Ayurveda Community due to its high vata hara, ruja hara and sophahara property. When used externally it may work with the theory that Taila being lipid based and as it holds the lipid soluble as well as water soluble extracts of the drugs, has a better penetration via the cell membrane. Hence it increases the rate of trans-dermal drug delivery. It induces hyperthermia which improves local blood and lymphatic circulation and thereby improving local tissue metabolism.
